The Grand Junction Branch of AAUW was founded in 1927 and has been active in the community since its beginning. New members are welcome at any time.
Monthly program meetings are held from September through May. Meetings are open to the public and guests are welcome. Speakers are chosen from the community to explore issues affecting women, girls, and education. In addition, there are special interest groups available, such as a book club.
AAUW Grand Junction offers scholarships at Colorado Mesa University for non-traditional women students and at CMU Tech for women studying in non-traditional fields. The scholarships are managed by the Financial Aid offices at the schools and by the Colorado Mesa University Foundation.
AAUW Grand Junction is a supporter and advocate of STEM education (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math). We believe in encouraging more girls and women to enter these STEM fields. We also support the fellowships and advocacy projects of the national organization.
We welcome you to join us for education, community programs, legislative advocacy, research and scholarships for women.
